Raulli places 13th at Albany Invitational

Men’s cross country takes part in Pre-National Meet van Ingen places 27th overall in Blue Section Men’s Pre-National Individual Results Men’s Pre-National Team Results Complete Albany Invitational Results TERRE HAUTE, IND.—Senior Erik van Ingen placed a team-best 27th overall in the Blue Race of the Pre-National Meet on Saturday, highlighting the Binghamton men’s cross country’s teams first-ever performance at the prestigious NCAA Pre-National Meet at Indiana State University. There were two races and the Bearcats were 20th out of 35 squads in their section. van Ingen, who took part in the NCAA Championships last year on the same course, covered the 8,000-meter course in a time of 24:13. Graduate student Chris Gaube was 96th with a time of 24:53. There were 231 runners in the Blue section of the meet. While the top seven men’s runners took part in the Pre-National Meet, the rest of the men’s squad, as well as the entire women’s squad, was at the Albany Invitational. The Bearcat men were fourth out of 25 teams while the women were fifth out of 22 squads. Sophomore Vasili Papastrat placed a program-best eighth overall (out of 183 runners in the men’s race, covering the 8,000-meter course in a time of 25:33. Junior Tyler Stachecki was 26th (26:06) and sophomore Jason Santos was 38th (26:21) In the women’s race, sophomore Lindsay Raulli finished a team-best 13th overall (out of 177 runners), covering the 5,000-meter course in a time of 18:27). Fellow sophomore Rachel Miura was 25th (18:42) and freshman Caitlin Jelinek was 27th (18:46). Up next for Binghamton is the America East Championships in Boston on Oct. 30.
