Track & Field Squads Open Season at Cornell Indoor RelaysPublished by
ITHACA, N.Y. – Freshman Kierra Arthur won the women’s triple jump and sophomore Ivory Taussig set the school record in the women’s 60, highlighting Binghamton’s performance at the Cornell Relays on Saturday afternoon. There was no team scoring in the meet. Arthur recorded a first-place distance of 38-8 . She was also third in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.99. Taussig, meanwhile, was second in her event with a time of 7.83. The previous school record of 7.84 was clocked by Kim Williams in 2006. Elsewhere on the women’s side, junior Camille Ginyard was second in the pole vault with an ECAC-qualifying height of 11-9 . Fellow junior Alexis Murray was second in the long jump (18-6). On the men’s side, freshman Cameron Black was fourth in the 60 hurdles with a time of 8.28 seconds. In the weight throw, seniors Jacob Platel and Greg Feathers placed fourth in fifth with distances of 53-5 and 52-1 respectively. Binghamton is off until the West Point Invitational on Jan. 12.
