"The Real Maine" takes a look into the lives of five collegiate runners as they spend a summer in seclusion training for future running endeavors. The film chronicles stories of triumph and despair displaying the inner being of each individual and the group chemistry that forms.
The first film by Erik van Ingen, inspired by Once A Runner documents the summer of five college athletes who convene in Maine for six weeks in an attempt to catapault their running talents from that of a college athlete to a prominent force within american distance running.
